Breathtaking Eagle Landing Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: Adolph Weinman’s Walking Liberty design graces the obverse, as is tradition. The image shows the morning sun beginning to rise as Liberty strides confidently carrying branches while draped in the American flag. Inscriptions on this face include her name, “LIBERTY,” the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the date, “2021.” Adolph Weinman designed two of the most recognizable coins in American history, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime. He also designed other numismatic pieces, as well as sculpted several pieces that remain on display to this day.
Reverse: A new reverse design by Emily Damstra makes its debut. An eagle prepares to land while carrying an oak branch. “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is inscribed to the right. Inscriptions on the rim note the coin’s country, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” face value, “ONE DOLLAR,” and metal content, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER.”
