Description
Why add this flawless Philadelphia minted Type I 2021 American Silver Eagle bullion coin to your collection?
The continuing global battle with COVID-19 has resulted in both sustained demand for precious metals products and pandemic related production delays, prompting the U.S. Mint to authorize a production run of American Silver Eagle bullion coins at its Philadelphia facility for the second year in a row. This special, limited mintage release also marks one of the final times that former 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti’s classic heraldic eagle (Type I or T-1) reverse will adorn the silver dollar. The Mint has announced that a newly-designed eagle image will be introduced to the series later in 2021.
- This certified Emergency Production 2021-(P) American Silver Eagle bullion coin features the iconic Type I reverse design.
- The 40.60 mm diameter coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint.
- The silver dollar includes an Early Releases certification label, with Philadelphia themed graphics.
- Mintage is limited to only 495,000 coins.
Gorgeous Silver Eagle Imagery
Obverse: The obverse features a replica of the powerful vision of Lady Liberty that first appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The lovely Lady is portrayed wrapped in an American flag walking towards the rising sun carrying a bouquet of oak and laurel, with her right hand reaching forward in a welcoming gesture. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “2021” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The patriotic image was crafted by well-known early 1900s sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.
Reverse: A heraldic eagle clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch is centered on the reverse, accompanied by the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
