Lifelike Rendition of the Ring Bearer
Obverse: The obverse is graced with a right facing, crowned image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE,” “TWO DOLLARS” and “2021.” This portrait of the Queen was created by acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.
Reverse: The reverse features Frodo Baggins in full color (as portrayed by American actor Elijah Wood), looking down, with concern, at The One Ring in his hand. In a background of heavy foliage, the characters Samwise Gamgee and Merry Brandybuck are depicted, two of Frodo’s loyal Fellowship companions. Inscribed “1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER,” along with licensing credit to New Line Production Inc.
