The characters are transformed in the style of the Japanese art form of Chibi, rendering them as short and cute, with exaggerated expressions. Timed perfectly to honor the 20th anniversary of the 2001-2003 Lord of the Rings film trilogy, imagery for the series is based upon character portrayals in the films. This fifth release of the series is dedicated to Gollum, the Ring-corrupted Hobbit originally known as Smeagol.

Charming Chibi Gollum Design
Obverse: The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II NIUE,” “2021 2 DOLLARS” and “1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER.” Created by award-winning British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998, this likeness is recognized as the fourth definitive coinage portrait of the Queen.
Reverse: Gollum is depicted on the reverse wearing a loincloth, and accurately colorized with pale greyish skin, beady blue eyes, thinning hair and a wide mouth lined with razor sharp teeth.
