Magnificently Detailed Canadian Circulation Coinage Designs
Obverse: The right facing likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, crafted by award-winning Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt in 2003, is centered on each obverse. The effigy is flanked by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II” and “D. G. REGINA.” The one dollar and two dollar denomination coins are dated “2021” on the obverse.
Reverse: The reverse design for each denomination varies, featuring a polar bear ($2), a common loon ($1), the Coat of Arms of Canada (50 cents), a caribou (25 cents), a bluenose sailing vessel (10 cents) and a beaver (5 cents). Each coin is inscribed with “CANADA” and the appropriate denomination, with “2021” on the five, ten, twenty-five and fifty cent coins.
