Obverse: Centered on the obverse is the likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in an elegant right facing pose. The mirrored background is lightly etched with a random pattern of cascading wavy lines. Inscriptions include “ELIZABETH II,” “D.G. REGINA” and “25 DOLLARS.”
Reverse: Featured on the reverse is a gorgeously rendered, sculptural portrait of a Buffalo. Inscriptions are simply “CANADA” and “2021.” Weighing over a ton, an adult Buffalo is one of the world’s largest mammals, and is recognized as symbol for power, safety, prosperity, endurance and the sacredness of life.
