Description
Why purchase this pristine 2021 American Silver Eagle Type-1 bullion coin?
The U.S. Mint launched the American Silver Eagle series in 1986. In tribute to the 35th anniversary of the series in 2021, the Mint instituted the first ever design change to the reverse of the classically styled coin. Prior to the transition to the new Type-2 variety in July 2021, the original Silver Eagle Type-1 style coin was minted for a few months, representing the final production of the heraldic eagle reverse design by former 12th Chief Engraver John Mercanti.
- This 40.60 mm diameter 2021 American Silver Eagle coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
- The coin represents the final release of the Silver Eagle with the original Type-1 heraldic eagle reverse.
- A commemorative 35th Anniversary certification label is included with the perfectly graded coin.
Stunning American Silver Eagle Design
Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse, with an American flag artfully flowing around her walking form. She carries branches of oak and laurel, which are traditionally emblematic of strength, honor and victory. This rendition of “Walking Liberty” created by acclaimed sculptor Adolph A. Weinman first appeared on the circulating U.S. half dollar in 1916. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2021.”
Reverse: The reverse features a gorgeously rendered eagle in a bold heraldic pose, grasping an olive branch in its right talon and a bundle of arrows in its left. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
