Striking Eagle Landing Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: The coin’s obverse bears the iconic Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman. Liberty carries branches of laurel and oak as the morning sun begins to rise. Inscriptions on this face include her name, “LIBERTY,” the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the date, “2021.” Adolph Weinman is among the most important numismatic designers in American history. His best known contributions are the Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: The reverse bears a new design that was created by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. An eagle prepares to land with an oak branch in its talons. Rim inscriptions read, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.” Also included on this face is the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
