Beautiful American Designs
Obverse: Adolph A. Weinman was the genius behind the design used on the obverse. His initials appear for the first time in the series with this issue. The image depicts Lady Liberty carrying and laurel and oak branches as symbols of unity, prosperity and strength.
Reverse: The artist responsible for the reverse image is Emily Damstra. Ms. Damstra is a well-known scientific illustrator and coin designer. Her Eagle appears to be in the process of landing on an oak branch.
