Modern Basketball Designs
The design on the obverse is the work of Justin Kunz. This side shows a basketball in the air as 3 basketball players all reach for it. If you’re looking for the date, it’s on this side.
The face value can be found on the reverse. This design shows a closeup of a basketball going through the hoop, which pairs nicely with the coin’s curved shape.
PF70 First Day of Issue with a Basketball Core Slab
Since this specimen was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) immediately when it was released, it received the First Day of Issue designation. It was found to be in perfect condition, so it was assigned the grade of Proof 70. Now it’s housed in an appealing basketball core slab.
