Beautifully Detailed Design
Obverse: The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley is centered on the obverse, surrounded by a rectangular, oriental style frame. A scroll pattern adapted from the decorations within the Palace encompass the irregular field area beyond the frame. Inscriptions include “SOLOMON ISLANDS,” “ELIZABETH II,” “5 DOLLARS,” “2020” and “AG 999 28 g.” Mr. Rank-Broadley, an acclaimed British sculptor, crafted the Queen’s portrait in 1998.
Reverse: The reverse design is a miniature, dramatically colorized replica of the banner above the entrance to the Palace of Heavenly Purity. The inscription translates as “Palace of Heavenly Purity.”
