Powerful Diversity Design by Justin Kunz
Obverse: Justin Kunz designed the obverse, on which three players reach for a ball. Kunz shows them with slightly elongated arms, which represents the exertion players make. The players, two men, one of whom is in a wheelchair, and one woman, represent the diversity of people who play the game. Inscriptions on the obverse include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2020.”
Reverse: Donna Weaver’s reverse design features a ball dropping through a colorized rim and net. Inscriptions along the rim read, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
Impeccable PF70 UC Tip Off Releases with Basketball Celebration Label
This coin earned Numismatic Guaranty Corporation’s (NGC’s) highest grade, Proof 70, which means that it appears perfect even under 5x magnification. It was also certified Ultra Cameo because of its heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. NGC awarded it a new designation, Tip Off Releases, which means that it was submitted for grading no more than a week after its initial release from the mint. This information comes provided on a Basketball Celebration label.
