Why purchase this 2019 A Game of Thrones House Targayen Clad Medal?
This stamp cover and medal from the British Royal Mint would make a fantastic addition to the collection of any Game of Thrones fan. With the stamp cover comes a stamp sheet that bears five stamps, as well as an information card. The card was written by Tom Huddlestone, an expert on the series. Huddlestone details the alliances and conflicts among the houses of Westeros. The medal itself was struck from 39.4 g of cupro-nickel. The medal, which is part of a mintage of just 25,000 pieces, comes in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Stunning Dragon Design
A three-headed dragon features on the obverse of the medal. Though small, the design is executed in exceptional detail, showing the creature in left-side profile framed by a pattern along the rim. The dragon is House Targaryen’s sigil. One of the show’s signature quotes, often associated with the Targaryen Family, “FIRE AND BLOOD,” is inscribed on the reverse. All of the stamps are cancelled by a handstamp that features ‘Longclaw,’ Jon Snow’s sword. This serves to relate the stamps to the cover. With the show of epic proportions coming to an end on May 19, 2019, be sure to secure this detailed collectible for your collection, “a Targaryen in the world is a terrible thing.”
