Designs Honoring the First Four States to Ratify the U.S. Constitution
The set celebrates innovations in the fields of astronomy (Delaware), disease prevention (Pennsylvania), electrical engineering (New Jersey) and agriculture (Georgia). The state name and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” are incorporated into each reverse design.
Each coin depicts the Statue of Liberty on the obverse, created by Justin Kunz and Phebe Hemphill. The image is accompanied by a stylized gear privy mark to indicate the coin’s inclusion in the American Innovation series. Inscribed “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “$1,” with the “S” Mint mark, “2019” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” lettered on the coin’s smooth edge.
