Why purchase this space themed 2019 Native American Coin and Currency set?
In recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, the U.S. Mint’s 2019 Native American Dollar design is a tribute to Native American contributions to the U.S. space program. This beautifully coordinated set includes a series 2017 one dollar banknote and an enhanced uncirculated 2019-P Native American $1 coin.
Symbolic 2019 Dollar Set
Mary Golda Ross, a Native American engineer who helped develop the Agena spacecraft, is featured on the reverse, with the spacecraft lifting off in a plume of smoke in the background. Created by the Emily Damstra and Joseph Menna, the design includes the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “$1.” Sacagawea is depicted on the obverse, as designed by Glenna Goodacre, accompanied by the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The coin’s smooth edge is lettered “2019,” “P” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
The one dollar banknote features a serial number starting with “1959,” which corresponds with the first launch date of the Agena spacecraft.
Specimen 69 Dollar Coin
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) determined the 2019-P enhanced uncirculated Native American $1 coin to be in virtually flawless Specimen 69 condition. The companion dollar banknote is beautifully minted, earning the grade of 66 from Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
