Classic Kennedy Half Dollar Design by Frank Gasparro
Frank Gasparro’s reverse design for the Kennedy Half Dollar is at the center of the front of the ornament. Gasparro modified the Presidential Seal in creating the design. An eagle guards a union shield while clutching arrows and an olive branch. Thirteen stars arch over the bird’s head, and fifty stars encircle both the bird and the stars. Rim inscriptions read, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “HALF DOLLAR.” Both sides of the ornament feature green leaves and deep red berries accented by silver on the outside. “UNITED STATES MINT” and “2019” are inscribed on red ribbons on the front.
The back of the design bears the Seal of the United States Mint. The seal consists of a shield on which scales and a key are divided by thirteen stars. Rim inscriptions read, “TREASURY” and “UNITED STATES MINT.”
