Description

Why add the 2018 Netherlands Silver 1 Lion Dollar NGC PF70 UC FR Black Core Holder to your collection?

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this 2018 Netherlands 1 oz. Silver Lion Dollar at the solidly collectible Proof 70 (PF70) Ultra Cameo (UC) level. This piece was encapsulated with the coveted First Releases (FR) designation in the visually stunning Black Core Holder from NGC. The Royal Dutch Mint first struck coins in 1567. This is the second year of issue for this new leeuwendaalder or “Lion Dollar” series. Each piece is struck to proof quality on a .9999 pure silver blank which contains 1 oz. of silver bullion.

Iconic “Lion Dollar” Trade Dollar

The obverse features a knight who is holding a shield. A Rampant Lion appears on the shield. The same Rampant Lion is featured on the reverse. Both sides of the proof are surrounded by two beadwork circles and inscriptions. The design was digitally transferred from actual original, historic strikes from 1617 and then enhanced for a spectacular presentation.

PF70 example featuring the Black Core

This is a flawless PF70 example. It has the desirable UC or contrast finish found on the highest quality proofs. It features the Black Core Holder presentation from NGC. It was graded within 30 days of release and qualified for the sought after FR designation.
