Magnificent Beauty of the American Silver Eagle
Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted draped in an American flag on the obverse, walking towards a new day’s sun while cradling a bundle of oak and laurel branches. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2017.” This timeless rendition of Liberty is borrowed from the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar created by acclaimed early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.
Reverse: A heraldic eagle grasping arrows and an olive branch adorns the reverse. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and West Point’s “W” Mint mark. Twelfth U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti created the patriotic image, which characterizes the Type-1 style Silver Eagle that was issued from 1986 until mid-2021.

This 2017-W Burnished American Silver Eagle coin was submitted to the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) for review within the first thirty days of release. Possessing a perfectly sharp strike, pristine surfaces and spectacular eye appeal, the 1 oz. silver dollar was determined to be in Specimen 70 condition.
