She carries a bundle of oak and laurel branches, which are emblematic of longevity, honor and victory. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the issue date “2016,” and the “W” Mint mark of the West Point Mint.
Reverse: The reverse features a magnificently detailed American eagle perched on a boulder. A twisted sapling of mountain pine grows from the rockface as a symbol of American strength and resilience. The image is surrounded by the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “AU 24K 1/2 OZ,” and “HALF DOLLAR,” along with Weinman’s “AW” initials styled as a monogram.
