Why should this perfectly graded Early Releases 2012-(S) American Silver Eagle bullion coin be the next addition to your collection?

The American Silver Eagle has been annually issued by the U.S. Mint since 1986 as the nation’s official silver bullion coin. Per tradition, the bullion releases of the series are struck without a distinguishing Mint mark. This 2012 Silver Eagle bullion coin is authenticated as a product of the San Francisco Mint only on its certification label.

  • This 2012-(S) American Silver Eagle bullion coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
  • The coin features a 40.60 mm diameter measurement.
  • The one-dollar denomination coin is legal tender in the United States.
  • The coin is certified Early Releases.
  • The impeccably graded coin includes a charming Golden Gate Bridge-style certification label.

Exquisitely Detailed Imagery of the Silver Eagle

Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed walking towards the rising sun on the obverse, with the flag of the United States billowing around her form. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2012.” The powerful patriotic image was originally designed for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar by renowned early 20th-century American sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.

Reverse: A heraldic eagle appears on the reverse, with a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its grasp. This classic image identifies the Type-1 style Silver Eagle that was minted from 1986 until mid-2021. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” The image is the work of John Mercanti, the U.S. Mint’s 12th Chief Engraver.
