Reverse: The reverse features an eagle centered on a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its grasp. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR,” the West Point Mint mark “W,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” This iconic heraldic eagle image, created by 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti, is the main identifying element of the Type-1 style Silver Eagle that was issued from 1986 until mid-2021.
