Description

Why purchase this 2-coin set honoring the Last Victory of Stonewall Jackson?

This incredible set features circulated examples of two coins that typically would have been carried by soldiers during the American Civil War. The set commemorates the 1863 Battle of Chancellorsville (Virginia), which is famed for being the battle in which Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson was mortally wounded.

  • The 1863 Indian Head Cent is minted from a copper-nickel alloy with a diameter of 19 mm.
  • The 15.5 mm diameter Seated Liberty Half Dime is randomly dated (1852-1863), struck from 0.0388 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver.
  • The coins are presented in a clear holder with a custom designed themed insert.
  • The set includes an authentic American Civil War era bullet!

Beautiful Coin Designs

The Indian Head Cent features Lady Liberty wearing a Native American headdress on the obverse, while the coin’s “ONE CENT” denomination is surrounded by an oak wreath and a union shield on the reverse.

The obverse of the Half Dime illustrates Lady Liberty seated on a boulder with the date of issue below, while the reverse is adorned with a wreath encircling the coin’s “HALF DIME” denomination.

Impressive 2-Coin Set

The 1863 Indian Head Cent in the set is judged to be in Good-Fine condition; the 1852-1863 Seated Liberty Half Dime is considered to be in Good-Very Good condition. The ungraded coins are enclosed in a 3″ x 5″ protective holder with an illustrated insert describing the battle and the subsequent loss of Stonewall Jackson. The remarkable set includes an authentic Confederate paper coupon, a genuine Civil War bullet, a photo of Stonewall Jackson and a Certificate of Authenticity. A booklet on the coins and currency circulated during the Civil War accompanies the exciting set.
