Why order this 2-oz Silver Antiqued Washington Bill of Rights 2nd Amendment Medal?
Gun owners and students of American history alike are sure to love this Bill of Rights Second Amendment Silver Medal. The Americans who declared their independence from Britain were able to secure that independence because they were armed. So important was it that the populace be armed that the Founding Fathers adopted the Second Amendment to secure the right. Struck from 2 oz of .999 fine silver, this medal celebrates that right. It will arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Powerful Second Amendment Design
The obverse features a left-side portrait of America’s first President, George Washington. His effigy is set against a sunburst backdrop, while his name is inscribed below. Filling the rest of the rim is one of his famous quotes on gun rights, “A FREE PEOPLE OUGHT NOT ONLY BE ARMED, BUT DISCIPLINED.
The second Amendment is inscribed in full on parchment on the reverse. Below are a pair of crossed pistols. Arching over the amendment are the words “BILL OF RIGHTS,” while the date of the amendment’s ratification, “DECEMBER 15, 1791,” is inscribed on the bottom portion of the rim.
