Accompanying inscriptions include “YELLOWSTONE,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “LIBERTY,” the Philadelphia Mint mark “P,” and the date of issue “1999.”

Reverse: The reverse depicts an American Bison standing in a left-facing pose, as a stylized sun rises in the background beyond distant mountains. The image is an adaptation of the seal of the U.S. Department of the Interior, which manages national parks, wildlife refuges, and conservation efforts. The inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” curves above the image, while “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “ONE DOLLAR” appear below.
