The Morgan silver dollar is one of the most easily recognized classic U.S. coins. These coins were minted from 1878 through 1904 and then again for a single year in 1921. Each Morgan dollar is 90% silver. The San Francisco Mint struck this dollar in 1879. It had a mintage of 9,110,000 pieces. This particular specimen also comes with uniquely themed packaging.
Impressively Detailed Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
George T. Morgan was the artist behind the obverse and reverse designs for this coin. The obverse displays his portrait of Liberty in a small cap. if you’re looking for the date, it’s located on this side.
The reverse shows a bald eagle holding its wings high. In its talons it’s clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The face value is inscribed at the bottom of the design and if you look just above it you’ll see the “S” mintmark.

This specimen has not been certified by a third-party service. However, it is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. It comes in Ingalls Family packaging, as in the family of Laura Ingalls Wilder and Little House on the Prairie.
